How we deliver

Our process for vercel ai sdk generative ui design

A fixed four-step path from first call to production, with weekly demos and a hard launch date.

Days 1–5
Step 01

Interaction model

We design what the interface promises, because an AI UI that implies more capability than the system has is the fastest route to lost trust.

Deliverable

Interaction model & flows

Days 6–9
Step 02

Streaming & latency design

We design for the real latency profile, including what the user sees during a long tool call rather than after it.

Deliverable

Streaming and loading states

Weeks 2–3
Step 03

Build

We build the interface with proper streaming, cancellation, error recovery, and accessible markup.

Deliverable

Production interface

Week 4
Step 04

Test with real users

We test with people who were not in the design, then fix what confused them.

Overview

Reading a markdown table is fine. Interacting with a live data grid is better. Generative UI allows language models to render actual frontend components instead of just returning text.

Our Vercel AI SDK Generative UI Design service transforms static chat interfaces into rich, interactive applications. We configure the SDK to stream React Server Components or client-side JSON states, creating a magical user experience.

Key Capabilities

  1. Component Streaming
We set up streamUI or structured data streams so your LLM can render buttons, forms, and charts dynamically in the chat window.

  2. Component Library Integration
We map the model's tool calls directly to your existing design system (Tailwind, shadcn/ui, MUI), ensuring the AI-generated UI matches your brand perfectly.

  3. Client-Side State Management
We manage the complex state required to keep generative UI interactive after the initial stream finishes, ensuring buttons and forms actually work.

Why Partner With Us?

  • User-Centric Focus: We prioritize the user experience, ensuring the UI streams in smoothly without jarring layout shifts.
  • Full-Stack Expertise: Generative UI requires deep knowledge of both prompt engineering and advanced React patterns. We excel at both.
  • Maintainable Systems: We build structured component registries so you can easily add new capabilities to the agent without rewriting the core engine.

Questions

Common questions

What makes an AI interface feel trustworthy?

Honesty about what it can do and visibility into what it is doing. Interfaces that overstate capability get abandoned the first time they fail, and interfaces that go silent during a long tool call get treated as broken even when they are working. Showing intermediate progress, citing sources, making cancellation always available, and failing clearly rather than confidently do more for adoption than any amount of visual polish.

Should everything stream token by token?

No. Streaming is right for prose a user reads as it arrives, but it is actively worse for structured output such as a table or a form, where a half-rendered result is unreadable and slightly unnerving. The useful pattern is streaming prose, progress indication for structured work, and a clear completion state so the user knows the system has finished rather than stalled.

How should the interface handle a slow multi-step agent?

By showing the steps. A user waiting thirty seconds with a spinner assumes it is broken; a user watching the agent report which step it is on will wait considerably longer and trust the result more. Cancellation must stay available throughout, and partial results should survive a cancellation rather than being discarded.

Do you handle accessibility for AI interfaces?

Yes, and streaming content makes it genuinely harder than a static page, which is why it needs deliberate design rather than a retrofit. Live regions have to announce new content without interrupting constantly, focus must not jump as tokens arrive, and every interaction has to work from the keyboard. We build this in rather than adding it after an audit finds it missing.
