How we deliver

Our process for vercel ai sdk agent development

A fixed four-step path from first call to production, with weekly demos and a hard launch date.

Days 1–5
Step 01

Scope the agent's job

We define what the agent is allowed to do, what it must never do, and what a correct outcome looks like in terms you can measure.

Deliverable

Agent spec & success criteria

Days 6–10
Step 02

Tool and guardrail design

We design the tool surface, the permission model, and the human approval gates for anything consequential.

Deliverable

Tool surface & guardrail spec

Weeks 3–5
Step 03

Build against evals

We build with an eval suite from the start, so a prompt change that improves one case and breaks three is caught before it ships.

Deliverable

Agent & regression eval suite

Week 6
Step 04

Deploy with observability

We ship with tracing, cost controls, and rollback, then hand over everything including the evals.

Deliverable

Live agent, traces & handover

Overview

Basic chatbots are easy. Building an agent that can read a database, execute a workflow, and ask for permission before deleting a file is extremely difficult.

Our Vercel AI SDK Agent Development service focuses on building resilient, autonomous systems using the latest WorkflowAgent and tool-calling features in the SDK. We build agents that solve complex problems without requiring constant human intervention.

Key Capabilities

  1. Durable Workflows
We implement state-backed workflows that survive server restarts and process crashes, ensuring long-running tasks actually finish.

  2. Custom Tool Creation
We build securely scoped tools that allow your agents to interact with your internal APIs, databases, and third-party services.

  3. Human-in-the-Loop Safeguards
We implement approval workflows using the SDK's native cryptographic signing, ensuring agents never execute destructive actions without explicit consent.

Why Partner With Us?

  • Focus on Reliability: We do not build fragile demos. We engineer agents with strict error handling, retries, and fallback logic.
  • Deep SDK Knowledge: We leverage the specific strengths of the Vercel AI SDK, from standardized reasoning parameters to streaming tool execution.
  • Security First: We design our agents around the principle of least privilege, ensuring they only access the data they strictly need.

Questions

Common questions

What separates a demo agent from a production one?

Evals, guardrails, and observability, none of which a demo needs. A demo has to work once in front of an audience. A production agent has to behave acceptably across the long tail of real inputs, fail safely when it cannot, and be debuggable when it does. Most of our engineering time goes into that gap rather than into the agent loop itself, which is usually the easy part.

How do you stop an agent taking an action it should not?

By constraining what it can reach rather than by asking it nicely in a prompt. Tools are scoped to least privilege, anything consequential such as sending money, emailing a customer, or writing to a system of record goes through an explicit approval gate, and the agent runs under step and budget ceilings. Prompt instructions are a useful layer but they are not a security boundary, and treating them as one is a recurring cause of incidents.

How do you know the agent is actually working after launch?

Tracing plus a regression eval suite you keep running. Every run records its inputs, tool calls, and outcome, so you can inspect any individual case. The eval suite catches quality regressions when you change a prompt or a model, which is the failure mode that otherwise goes unnoticed for weeks because nothing errors. You own both.

Which model should the agent use?

Whichever one meets your quality bar at an acceptable cost, which we determine by measuring rather than by preference. A common outcome is a frontier model such as Claude Opus 5 for the reasoning steps and a cheaper model like Claude Sonnet 5 or Claude Haiku 4.5 for high-volume classification or routing. We build the provider abstraction so this stays a configuration decision you can revisit.
